We first kicked things off in 2023 with a Super Support Session...
Since then, The Mamahood Space has hosted several Pop-up Events and Day Trips; Paint Parties; Art Workshops; Support Sessions; and Journaling Activities.

If you're a Mama looking for community, respite, adventure and support, why not join us? We're always planning and working on exciting projects.

Mamahood Muses:
Stage 1
Our 'Mamahood Muses' photoshoot was a huge success! A huge shout out to all the Mamas – and their loved ones – who came to chat about the project and strike their best pose!

Thank you to Photographers vicmoy_ (photoshoot) and Fabio Calundungo (behind the scenes) for supporting us on the day.

Luminate at Birmingham Botanical Gardens 2024
In December 2024, some of the Mamas from the group joined us on the our very first The Mamahood Space Outing, to Luminate.
This was hosted at the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens! The Mamas had an absolutely fantastic, joy-filled time, and created unforgettable memories with their children!
Thanks to all who joined us.

Motherhood in Lockdown
'The Lockdown Mama Community,' an online group of mothers built in the wake of the COVID-19, were asked to write about their pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences during a global pandemic.

What resulted, was a raw, powerful and monumental collective case study showcasing the devastating impact that harsh maternity restrictions had on maternal mental health in the UK.

The Mamahood Space @ Stryx JQ
The Mamahood Space has partnered with Stryx Gallery to 'pop up' at their site in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

As part of Stryx's children & family programming, The Mamahood Space aims to bring mamas together for connection, empowerment, and support. Creative activities are usually also on offer.

Inside the Alcove
Attendees could unleash their creativity at the Make Your Own Bookmark and Journal stations, and by joining Alisha from The Mamahood Space, for a colourful, family friendly art workshop.

"We're excited to create a space where people can come together, celebrate the power of stories, and cultivate community connection. It's more than an event; it's a testament to the transformative power of literature and the community we can create through shared experiences." – Inside The Alcove hosts Abi and Mim

Calling Brummie Mummies!
For Black History Month, Black Ballad invites Jaz and Alisha to introduce The Mamahood Space.

Jaz paints a picture of the British loneliness crisis; and Alisha explains how her experience of post-natal depression and chronic illness inspired her to help other local mums and set up the organisation.

Grief: A Love Letter
‘All About Love’ is part of BUILDHOLLYWOOD’s Your Space Or Mine initiative, which gave artists and creatives across the UK a unique platform to present work outdoors and connect with communities across our cities. Your Space Or Mine supports the creative community and uses street space as an intervention to inspire and energise local neighbourhoods.
